Nothing could be easier to make than nut butter. All you need is a cup of nuts and a food processor or coffee grinder.* Best yet, making your own will save you money.
Almond Butter
Prep time
Total time
Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted almonds
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Place the almonds and salt in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse 10 times, or until the nuts are chopped.
- Process continually for 2 minutes.
- Turn off the processor, scrape the sides, and continue to process until the mixture is the consistency of butter.
- Refrigerate.
Notes
* If you are using a coffee grinder, grind no more than ½ cup at a time.
Cook’s Note: If the butter is not quite smooth enough for you, add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil to the mixture, and continue to process for a couple of minutes until the mixture is smoother.
